UAE Ranks 1st Regionally in IMD World Digital Competitiveness Ranking 2019

The UAE ranked first in the Arab world and 12th globally among the most competitive countries, according to the IMD World Digital Competitiveness Index 2019 report, issued by the International Competitiveness Center of the International Institute for Administrative Development in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The UAE ranked first in the Arab world and ninth globally in the "Readiness for the Future" factor, while it was ranked 12th last year.

In this regard, Mohammad Al Gergawi, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Future, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, praised the performance of the state in this year's report, pointing out that “UAE progress in the digital competitiveness index 2019 in general, and the focus of 'Readiness for the future' in particular, reflects the success achieved by the state and federal government institutions and the private sector, under the direction of the wise leadership of continuing to invest in the future, by focusing on knowledge sectors that have a positive impact on our development plans and aspirations.”
